Digital advocacy actions survey

Digital tools and platforms have transformed campaigning, just as they've changed how we communicate in other areas of our lives. We're asking: how are organisations using them now?

Survey closing date: Friday 15 August

At heart, campaigning is about connecting people with those who have the power to make change happen. But how effective is it nowadays to ask supporters to email their MP? How can we connect, build relationships and deepen trust between campaign supporters and political representatives, or other campaign targets, in a digital world full of AI-generated sentiments and competing messages?

Digital mobilisation agency More Onion, creators of Impact Stack, are building a sector-wide picture of how organisations are using digital tools in their campaigning. We're asking: What's working? What's challenging? And what's changing? If you're a campaigner who'd like to know too, and want to help shape the conversation about the future of digital campaigning, please fill in our survey. We'll share the results of our research and open up the discussion at an online event in autumn 2025.

As a thank-you for completing the survey, we're giving away three £20 vouchers for Ethical Superstore. We'll select the recipients at random from submissions after the survey has closed. 

*A few details about the prize draw:
You’ll be entered into the draw if you answer all survey questions up to (but not including) the optional ‘And finally…’ section. You don’t need to answer the ‘And finally’ questions to be eligible. If a selected winner is based outside the UK or Republic of Ireland, a $20 alternative voucher will be provided. The draw is open to people aged 18+ who work or volunteer for a charity running advocacy actions and who is based in the UK or Europe.

There is no cash alternative. Winners will be chosen using an impartial online random number generator in the week commencing 18 August 2025. We’ll contact winners by email after the prize draw. The draw opened on 3rd July 2025 and closes on 15th August 2025 at 11:59pm.

We reserve the right to amend the draw if necessary, for example, by substituting the voucher or extending the survey deadline. We’ll only use your email address to contact you if you win, unless you’ve opted in to hear more from us.
